Events like this only happen because of the great volunteers that both brighten up the event and roll up their sleeves and work. All volunteers receive a special shirt, food and drink at the finish, and, of course, our love and appreciation.
Expo - Help setup and organize the pre-race Expo on Friday night.
Athlete Check-In - Volunteers will hand out race packets and T-shirts to registered athletes.
Finish Line - Assist with removing timing chips, handing out medals and providing assistance to medical when needed.
Run Course Marshals - Positioned at intersections, the turnaround, and other locations on the course to direct runners in the proper directions. CHP will direct traffic at key intersections.
Bike Course Marshals - Positioned at intersections and other locations on the bike course to direct bicycle traffic in the proper direction. CHP will direct traffic at key intersections. You look after our wonderful athletes.
Transition Area - Security (only athletes allowed), body marking, in-transition aid station, and give swim, bike out/bike in and run directions. Assist with pedestrian traffic while the race is in progress
Bike Aid Station - Hand out bottles of water and energy bars to athletes on bikes passing by.
Run Aid Station #1- Set up the aid station, hand out water and energy gels to runners, and clean up.
Run Aid Station #2- Hosted by our friends at Rio Lindo Academy! Set up the aid station, hand out water and energy gels to runners, and clean up.
Parking - Direct people where to turn into the parking lot, where to park and assist with pedestrian traffic.
Lifeguards - In the water during swim portion of the event. Head lifeguard, Kate Hack will give further instruction.
Medical - Assist race physician with on-site medical care. Specific duties to be assigned by medical staff.
